What is Liquid Swords?

Founded in 2020, Liquid Swords is a video game studio created by industry veteran and outspoken Twitter user, Christofer Sundberg. Christofer is renowned as the founder of Avalanche Studios and the brains behind the Just Cause game series.

What’s our vision?

We love video games and we’re inspired by the origins of game development. We’re building a studio that is creativity-lead, free from unnecessary distractions, and solely focused on developing the very best games.

Where are we going?

We aim to grow to 100, our optimal number for zero-nonsense game development. We hope to reach this number by early 2024.

What are we doing right now?

We’re working on our first game; a narrative-driven, open-world, hardboiled revenge story, built and developed in Unreal Engine 5.

Where are we located?

We’re located in Sickla, Stockholm – less than fifteen minutes by public transport from Slussen, one of the city’s main transport hubs. The office is accessible by bus or tram and, like the whole of Stockholm, the location is extremely cycle friendly. Our newly-renovated office sits in the heart of contemporary Sickla, with shops, bars, and restaurants.

Our team of expert talent comes from across the industry, including Avalanche Studios, DICE, Fatshark, Mojang Studios, Paradox Interactive, Rockstar Games, Starbreeze Studios, and Ubisoft. We’ve got rid of meetings that could have been emails and created a studio where we empower and trust our teams to be true experts in their disciplines, without compromising on quality. We always work collaboratively – no silos, and our organizational structure is flat.

What’s exciting about Liquid Swords?

Those who join within the next year will play a key role in the development of our first game. In practice, this means a high-degree of autonomy to contribute toward the full lifecycle of our first project.

Do you offer flexible working?

At this stage of development, we believe it’s important to be in the same physical space to facilitate easy and natural collaboration. Our primary work place is our office; however, we understand that some tasks and time are better spent working remotely and our general rule is four days working remotely each month. We also know that life is never straightforward and we offer flexible working with core hours from 10.00 to 15.00.

Do you offer relocation packages?

Yes. For those joining us from outside Sweden, we offer a relocation allowance and provide services in collaboration with Nordic Relocation Group.

Do you sponsor visas?

Yes. If you’re offered a position at the studio and you live outside of the European Union, we’ll sponsor your work permit.
